And now the grim reality of dark — or “hijacked ”— buildings is coming to the stage in Thabang Chauke’s Kwa’ Mnyamandaw­o. A junior investigat­ive journalist’s research into Hillbrow’s hijacked buildings leads her to Kwa’Mnyamandaw­o, a building beleaguere­d by police raids and corruption. Aided by a local tour guide, she unearths an undergroun­d illicit trade network and is confronted with a moral dilemma: Does she expose the truth or improve the living conditions of the residents?
