Generic and Biosimilar Medicines of Southern Africa has appointed Lorraine Keyser as its new chair, the first woman to be elected chair of the organisati­on since its inception 41 years ago.

Keyser, who is the country manager for global generics manufactur­er Dr Reddy’s, brings more than 20 years of experience to the job.

Ashburton Investment­s, the new generation investment management business of the FirstRand Group, has appointed Tony Wilshin MD of its internatio­nal business, headquarte­red in Jersey.

He will be responsibl­e for strategic management and will drive growth of the business with a focus on enhancing customer experience. Beachcombe­r Tours South Africa has appointed two longtime senior staff members, operations manager Silvana Polo and national sales and marketing manager Joanne Visagie, to its board.

Polo joined Beachcombe­r Tours in 1988.

Visagie joined the company in 1991 with a BCom degree from the University of Pretoria.

In 1993, she was appointed national sales manager and, at one time, was also sales and marketing manager for Absolute Tours.

When Beachcombe­r Tours reconsolid­ated, Visagie followed and was appointed national sales and marketing manager. She said her 27 years with the company has been an exceptiona­l experience.
