THE QUICK PIQUE
CHUCK (M-Net, Tuesdays at 7.30pm) has to be one of the most charismatic spy shows ever. And that’s saying a lot since spies are hardly known for being personable.
Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, below), your average 20-something computer geek, was wrongly expelled from Stanford University and is now working in the Nerd Herd (computer department) at his local Buy More with his best friend Morgan. He’s been undercover since a birthday e-mail, encoded with the entire database of the US government’s secret info called The Intersect, was downloaded into his brain by accident, turning him into a mine of secret info. Thanks to the half-baked schemes from Chuck’s Buy More colleagues, a nosey best friend, smothering sister (all oblivious to Chuck’s secret) and a klutzy Chuck, there’s plenty of laughter.
Action and adventure come via CIA and NSA agents, Major John Casey (Adam Baldwin) and the gorgeous but deadly Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski, left), and heart and intelligence come via Chuck (aka The Intersect), all of which translate into one exciting episode after another as Chuck's quiet life is turned into a full-on spy
