SuperGP coverage live on SABC-TV3
CLINT Seller clocked the fastest time in qualifying yesterday for the historic Monster Energy SuperGP Champions Trophy race, which will take place at the old airport site this afternoon.
Seller posted an impressive 1:04.895 around the 2.464km temporary track on the southern runway for an average speed of 136.69km/h.
Seller, who has dominated the opening four rounds of the national championship across the country, was almost a second faster than his nearest rival, Dylan White, who will line up alongside him on the front row of the grid.
But there was very little to differentiate second place from eighth on the grid, so it looks like the 15 000 crowd (it has been capped for safety reasons) will have plenty of thrilling action to watch.
For the first time in many years, a national championship motor race will be featured live on free-to-air television.

“We are delighted to partner with SABC Television to bring live national championship motor race coverage to South African fans for the first time in a great many years,” said GAS Sports Executive Director Stephen Watson. “This means thousands of motor racing fans now have a dedicated programme on free-to-air television that will cover the feature race of the Monster Energy SuperGP Champions Trophy live for the rest of the season.”
