VILOSHNI MOODLEY AND NIMALIN REDDY

We were truly meant to be soulmates

-

HOW DID YOU MEET? WE FIRST met in early 2003 when Nimalin came to my workplace for training. He was having lunch with a friend of his who worked with me. While the friend chatted to me, Nimalin was paying attention to my feet – he has a fetish for nice feet. We became distant friends, but connected again on Facebook. Destiny brought us together after eight years. That’s when I knew we were truly meant to be soulmates. OUR WEDDING WE HAD 280 guests. It was perfect in every way: my dashing groom, the weather, food, décor, love and support from friends and family. We were first married in a traditional Tamil ceremony at Umgeni Road temple. The reception followed at the Durban Jewish Centre, where we exchanged Christian vows. It was a Spring-themed reception with lots of flowers and butterflies. Nimalin and I walked down the aisle to the romantic tune of John Legend’s You & I. We also did a special dance to a melody of four songs comprising Tamil, Hindi and English elements. THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE RELIGION. He is Tamil and I am Christian. Despite this, we found a resolution through our respect for each other and our families’ support. ADVICE ON MARRIAGE MARRIAGE is a commitment that should not be taken lightly. There will be ups and downs, but couples should always remember the vows they made to each other. It is no longer just “I”, it’s now “us”. Always respect one another, put each other first and never go to bed angry. ADVICE ON LOVE FALL in love with your partner every day. Make special memories. Remember that love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it is not proud and love endures all things.
