MF alive, well and rich in moral fibre
I RESPOND to the letter by Kevin Govender published in the Sunday Tribune, March 1 edition.
The letter is disingenuous and ambiguous. Contrary to the writer’s expressed views, the Minority Front (MF) is alive and well.
Our constant interaction with our constituencies is proof of that.
Furthermore, Shameen Thakur Rajbansi does not hold a seat in local government and has never been a representative at local government level.
Since winning her seat in 1999, she has always been a member of the KwaZuluNatal Legislature, and remains the sole representative of the MF at provincial government level.
Let me remind these orchestrated letter-writers that our leader has never imposed leadership and the party has a democratic dispensation with the leadership governed by democratic procedures.
The writer is also mistaken in claiming that the tenacious tigress was replaced by two local government representatives.
Even if this were true, how could two representatives occupy one seat?
While there is no truth in this whole incongruent composition, councillor Shane Hansraj did not replace Rajbansi but tried to unseat her which, of course, he again failed to do.
As a party, we have always acted within the rules; therefore, engagement with our legal envoy is normal practice and has seen us enjoy victory in the past.
We are confident of nothing less this time around. One thing is certain, though: Thakur Rajbansi has kept the legacy and tradition of the late Bengal Tiger (Amichand Rajbansi) alive.
We have certainly passed the danger zone. We are now purging the MF of any indecency and rot.
Voters can rest assured that the MF will give them representatives of rich moral fibre and impeccable character.
