You’re not Trevor Noah

-

President Jacob Zuma’s habit of laughing in Parliament earned him the ire of opposition parties at the final sitting when they wanted clarity on his statement that the ANC came before the country. “I don’t know how to stop my laughter. Is it hurting you? No.” Immediately, he was heckled with a rousing “Yes!” EFF MP Mbuyiseni Ndlozi objected to the giggling: “This is not Trevor Noah’s show.” DA leader Mmusi Maimane said if the ANC came first, not the country, then the ANC should be paying for Nkandla. The last quarter question-and-answer session has been seen as a soft landing for Zuma, compared with the mid-year sitting when he was hit by an EFF avalanche of “Pay back the money!”

Suicide bomber?

The woman killed during an antiterrorism police raid in Paris on Wednesday has been identified as the daughter of a Moroccan immigrant.

Hasna Aitboulahcen, 26, described herself as a cousin of Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the suspected ringleader of the attacks.

Police initially identified her as the person who detonated a suicide vest as police stormed an apartment in the suburb of SaintDenis as part of the search for those responsible for planning and executing the attacks. But on Friday, several media outlets reported police were saying she was not the bomber.
