THE vision of Berea Technical College (Berea Tech) centres on enabling ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. The primary aim of Berea Tech is to provide accessible, quality and costeffective education, training and development within the prescribed educational framework – and its mission is to offer courses and qualifications that ensure quality employment.
The institution has also developed a division that caters primarily for people already within the employment sector who need accredited skills training. Through this division, Setaaccredited unit standard qualifications leading to nationallyaccredited NQF level qualifications have been successfully introduced into the college’s qualification line-up. Berea Tech is an independent, specialist institution with a strong focus in electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, business studies, travel and tourism, and information technology.
The institution’s qualifications are designed and aligned to the needs and requirements of the workplace, while being nationally recognised and duly accredited with the relevant quality assuring bodies.
Berea Tech is also a nationally registered Examination Centre of the national Department of Education and offers the National (N) Certificates in Engineering and Business Studies (N3 – N6), which lead up to the National (N) Diploma. The college is accredited with Umalusi and is also an ISO 9001:2008 certified educational institute that aims to provide quality education. BRIDGING PROGRAMMES
Berea Tech is geared up to assist learners who did not achieve a university entrance pass with its effective and accessible bridging and foundation programmes, which are specifically designed to help these students make a successful transition into further education. BURSARIES
Through the Berea Technical College Bursary Foundation – a partnership between Berea Tech and its brand ambassador, DJ Sgqemeza (Sipho Mbatha) – numerous deserving students are awarded study bursaries each year. GRADUATES RECOGNISED

As a well-established institution, Berea Tech is geared up to provide its students with a complete educational package. In addition, the college’s fees are highly competitive, with various payment options available. Fees include textbooks, support classes, practical lessons and access to free internet.
National (N) diploma graduates also have access to Berea Tech’s student placement programme, which facilitates employment or in-service training placements for these graduates.
