Campus chaos separates winners from losers

-

STUDENTS protesting at universities countrywide is such a sad state of affairs and a waste of their valuable time.

They are losing their sense of priority, responsibility and the ultimate reason for them attending these institutions.

Our country is faced with huge poverty and unemployment. Instead of dedicating their time to studying, obtaining their degrees and diplomas and becoming educated and knowledgeable individuals and getting ready for the workplace, they instead choose to protest and destroy property.

In most cases the property they destroy is the property they require to educate themselves. Now how pathetic is that? Makes one doubt the intelligence of these students, especially when they behave in a sheep-like fashion and follow the leader without thinking and determining right from wrong.

My advice to these students, our so called future leaders, is don’t get involved in politics and unnecessary protests. Make a difference to the economy, make your country proud but, most of all, make your parents proud.

These are the people who have made huge sacrifices in ensuring you get a proper education and hope you will assist them financially in their old age. Once you have set yourself a successful future, then you could decide to allocate your time in other activities of your choice.

Be proud of your achievements.

Don’t take part in protests that will turn you into a loser. Study hard and be an achiever, a successful person. That is the only answer to combating poverty and unemployment. REGGIE CHELLAN
