Sparrow’s fine

FORMER KwaZulu-Natal estate agent Penny Sparrow has been found guilty of hate speech and fined R150 000.

Equality Court Magistrate Irfaan Khalil found the words she posted on her Facebook page on January 3 likening black people to monkeys constituted hate speech.

She was ordered to pay the fine within 60 days to the Oliver and Adelaide Tambo Foundation.
