Keep falling in love with the same person

-

NICOLA NAIDOO, a 25-year-old marketing co-ordinator from Cape Town, and Aveer Hariparsad, 26, a department of correctional services employee, married on December 5. HOW WE MET

We met at the Woolworths store in the Galleria shopping mall in 2010. Aveer was the store manager, and I worked there as an administrator during university holidays. PROPOSAL AND WEDDING

We celebrated our third anniversary as a couple, on December 23, 2013 at the Roma Revolving Restaurant, in Durban. Aveer chose that occasion to pop the question.

We had a traditional Hindi wedding that brought families together from two different language groups (Hindi and Tamil). There were 300 people who attended our big day.

We travelled to Durban twice during the planning phase to ensure all was on track. With the help of our respective families, it turned out to be the fairytale occasion we had dreamed about.

VIEWS ON LOVE & MARRIAGE

To love someone and be loved in return is an amazing feeling. Not everything will be fun and laughter, and you will be required to overcome many obstacles, but it will help to strengthen the bond of love between your partner and you. “A successful marriage requires falling in love many times, always with the same person.” – Mignon McLaughlin (US journalist and author).
