The Crescendos resound for 56 years

IT’S been 56 eventful years in the music business for the Crescendos and they are still going strong with their trademark cover versions of popular love ballads.

Their latest offering will be at the Musical Extravagan­za Legendary Stars show, a three-day event expected to blast off at the Sibaya Casino from Friday.

Other acts expected on the bill include Dynachords, Forerever Chilled and Off The Charts.

When the Crescendos hit the stage, led by Clive Pillay on drums, fans can expect renditions of timeless classics like Unchained Melody and Don’t Forget Me When I’m Gone.

Accompanyi­ng Pillay, who has been drumming for 48 years, will be singers Sammy Star, Eric Gabriel, Kombi and Johanna Harris.

Pillay said the event was aimed at promoting harmony and unity between performers from different racial groups.

Tickets are on sale at Computicke­t at R120 each. Three lucky Sunday Tribune Herald readers will have the opportunit­y to win tickets to the event.
