No room for racism in SA

I HAVE a lot of respect for Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa. I think he will make a far better leader than President Jacob Zuma.

He is more intelligent, honest, and has better values and leadership skills. He has implored ministers to follow in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela by leading with honesty and integrity, not greed and arrogance.

However, I disagree with his statement that as long as whites are rich and blacks are poor, race issues will exist.

Racial intolerance is due to government mismanagement as they are not doing enough to curb racism. They must enforce hard and fast rules with zero tolerance for all forms of racial discrimination.

While racial discrimination still exists in certain white sectors, it has also been evident among some blacks. The government must stop playing the blaming game and start taking responsibility for its inability to manage properly. Reggie Chellan

Government needs to clean up its act

WHY do we talk about out-ofcontrol political spending like it’s a natural disaster?

It’s a problem created entirely by humans. South Africans are sick and tired of this culture of corruption. The government is corrupt, out of touch and indifferent to the interests of the people. Politicians are more interested in protecting their own power than in doing what’s right.

Like many of you, I don’t like how this country has been overrun with government corruption. We have to pay taxes and play by the rules and this is what we get in return.

It is time to clean up this mess and have a government that works for the people. After all, we do pay their salaries.
