Love blossoms after perfect wedding day

DAIBRIAL Sivananden, 28, a physiotherapist from Glenmore, and Asherville resident Kirshwin, a 29-year-old sales and marketing manager at Icesa (PMB), got married at Coastlands Musgrave Hotel on April 9. HOW WE MET

Kirshwin invited me on Facebook and we realised that we attended the same high school – he was one Grade ahead of me. We lived about two minutes from each other and our grandparents were good friends. My gran still has the lamp stand that his grandfather made. PROPOSAL & WEDDING

After five years of dating, Kirshwin planned a surprise proposal at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 2015. Two years later we had a Tamil wedding at Coastlands on Musgrave and 220 guests attended. It was a beautiful day, just the way we wanted it.

Don’t let the little things get to you; always look at the bigger picture and know why you are doing what you are doing.

It’s been three weeks of marriage, so our experience is limited but we take it a day at a time and are considerate towards each other.

It’s more fun doing something with your favourite person than going at it alone.
