Looting at the top depriving others

-

I HAVE just read the leader “Stop the rot in the SAPS” by editor Mazwi Xaba (Sunday Tribune, April 23).

Needless to say, I was not shocked. When Riah Phiyega was appointed national police commissioner, I thought: I wonder how long she is going to last? What does she know about policing a country?

The same goes for Bheki Cele and Jackie Selebi. It is through these people that we have lost all faith in the SAPS.

Granted there are a few good policemen, but these are few and far between. Who elects these useless dudes, anyway?

Do they realise their corruption and theft of state funds are depriving people, many of whom are living below the breadline, begging in the street and foraging for food in garbage bins, of a decent life? Apparently not.

They are heartless human beings who don’t give a damn about their fellow man.

Is the acting commissioner, Khomotso Phahlane, any different from President Jacob Zuma? I think not. Thank you Ben Trovato for your humour – I love it.

Also Dennis Pather for his marvellous Tongue & Cheek. I admire you guys for your great sense of humour.

The Sunday Tribune would not be the same without you. AC KIGGEN Glenwood
