Actress rebels against constant scrutiny

-

ACTRESS Malaika Arora Khan says people are guarded nowadays as there is a constant glare on them.

She agrees the norms of society must be followed, but says it does not mean a person should be dictated to about what they should do.

“Everybody is so guarded. There is a certain amount of just being yourself that is robbed from us every day purely because there is so much scrutiny.

“There is a constant glare, and that is the whole point.

“We live in a democratic society and we should be able to say what we want and be what we want,” the actress said.

“Yes, there are certain norms you have to follow when living in society, but that does not mean I need to be dictated to, or told what to do.”

Malaika says: “I need to be able to have my own thought process, I need to be able to think and be the person who I am without someone telling how I should live my life.

“Letting go, being yourself and unleashing your wild side is an integral part of everybody.”

“In short, just be in touch with yourself,” the actress said.

A mother, successful entrepreneur, a TV show judge and fitness freak, Malaika says: “We are naturally blessed, engineered for multitasking.

“If we didn’t know how to multitask, the world would not run so smoothly.”
