Zuma’s legal issues
PRESIDENT Jacob Zuma has applied for leave to appeal the high court ruling obliging him to submit his reasons for the March cabinet reshuffle in which he fired Pravin Gordhan as finance minister.
“Zuma has served the DA a notice of application for leave to appeal against the order of Judge (Bashier) Vally, handed down last Thursday, which requires him to deliver the record of decision by the close of business tomorrow,” said James Selfe, of the DA.
The presidency did not respond.
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court is expected to hear arguments tomorrow on whether a secret ballot should be allowed when MPS vote on a motion of no-confidence against Zuma.
