- VEANTHA NAIDOO

BOLLYWOOD’S latest offering, Noor, is an adaption of Pakistani author Saba Kazmis’s critically acclaimed book, Karachi! You Are Killing Me!

The film stars Sonakshi Sinha in the lead role and tells the story of a young journalist who covers minor stories but aspires to becoming famous.

Directed by Sunhil Sippy, the film tries to show the lengths a journalist will go to in order to maintain balance in an award-winning report.

The film is a light-hearted romantic comedy that has Noor Roy Choudhary cast as the journalist, who lives with her understanding father and faces many challenges.

Her life turns upside down when she uncovers a major medical scam involving organ harvesting, and has to face the consequences.

The film had a worldwide release on April 21 and is now showing in South Africa cinemas.

The music for this Hindi film was composed by Amaal Mallik. There are seven songs on the soundtrack, which includes a remake of the song Gulabi Redux.

Noor has done well at the box office right from the day of its release in India.

The first screening of the film left audiences pleased, with many voicing their opinions on social media. Vishal Dadlani @
