Emotional funeral service for Karabo Mokoena
MESSAGES of “no violence against women” took centre-stage at a sombre and emotional funeral service for Karabo Mokoena on Friday at the Diepkloof Multipurpose Centre in Soweto.
Her burnt body was found in a veld in Bramley Johannesburg, on April 29, a day after she was reported missing.
Her friends and family gathered to say their final goodbyes.
Among those were Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini, Minister of Women in the Presidency Susan Shabangu and Health and Social Development MEC Mpho Phalatse.
Speaking at Karabo’s funeral service, Dlamini said the number of women being killed was the equivalent of genocide. See Page 5
