Understanding, performing Tulsi Vivah prayer can help marital woes

-

CAN I do the Tulsi Vivah prayer at home? Please tell me more about this.

My sister is having marital problems. We are very close and it has put stress on me.

I meditate daily, which is helping us to cope. But I have been experiencing hair loss. What should I do? SL THE Tulsi Vivah is the ceremonial marriage of the Tulsi plant (holy basil) to the Hindu God Vishnu or his avatar, Krishna.

This ceremony can be performed at any time between Prabodhini Ekadashi – the 11th lunar day of the bright fortnight of the Hindu month Kartik – and the full moon of the month (Kartik Poornima), but it is usually performed on the 11th or 12th lunar day. The day varies from region to region. TULSI AND VISHNU

Tulsi is a goddess in Hinduism and considered a wife of Vishnu, sometimes with the epithet Vishnupriya, “the beloved of Vishnu”.

The legend behind Tulsi Vivah and its rites are told in the scripture Padma Purana (6).

According to Hindu scripture, the Tulsi plant was a woman named Vrinda (a synonym of Tulsi). She was married to the demon-king Jalandhar, who, due to her piety and devotion to permitted for Lord Shiva prayer).

Vrinda cursed Vishnu and he became black in colour and was separated from his wife, Lakshmi.

This was later fulfilled when he was transformed into the black Shaligram stone and in his Rama avatar, was separated from his wife Sita, who was kidnapped by the demon-king Ravana.

Vrinda then drowned herself in the ocean, and Vishnu himself transferred her soul to a plant, which was henceforth called Tulsi.

As a blessing from Vishnu to marry Vrinda in her next birth, Vishnu, in the form of Shaligram, married Tulsi on Prabodhini Ekadashi.

To commemorate that event, the ceremony of Tulsi Vivah is performed, and requires devotees to observe certain rules and regulations.

It is true that real strength comes from spirituality. It causes our body, mind and soul to be in perfect harmony.

Continue with your meditation as it will strengthen you mentally and physically. You did not share your sister’s birth details, so I’m unable to speak about her.

The astrological reasons for your hair loss are:

Since 2012, your ruling planet has been the sun and it will remain so for the next year and a half. The sun is not favourable for you and in your chart is also situated with the planet Rahu.

So offer water to the rising sun. It will make the planet less malefic and favourable outcomes may result.

And whenever the planetary eclipse happens, commit that day to fasting and chant “Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya” as often as you can. It will minimise negativity in your life.

Ensure your diet is balanced and rich in iron. An iron deficiency can also be playing a role.include spinach, carrots, oranges, apples, grapes, pomegranates and tomatoes in your diet.

Emotional stress can also contribute to hair loss.

Women in their mid-40s undergo hormonal changes which can lead to hair loss.

Don’t comb you hair when it is wet.

After lunch, sit in a “Vajrasan” yoga posture, then comb your hair for up to five minutes.

Please also seek medical advice.
