Moody’s may spare SA
SOUTH African athletes are flying the country’s flag high, having already won five medals at the IAAF World Championships currently taking place in London.
The SA team has managed to clinch two gold medals, thanks to Wayde van Niekerk and Luvo Manyonga.
Van Niekerk also won silver in CREDIT rating agency Moody’s did not release a ratings review of South Africa on Friday as most expected.
The agency believed that SA has not had any major events that would require a review. In June Moody’s downgraded South Africa’s rating and assigned a negative outlook. The agency assesses both South Africa’s randdenominated debt at investment grade, as well as foreign-currency. Moody’s is expected to release its credit opinion on the SA economy on Tuesday.

Caster Simenya locked an impressive 1min 58.90sec, earning a bronze in the 1 500m on Friday. Simenya will be eyeing a gold in the 8 00m race taking on the final day of the athletic championship this evening. Parliament’s Portfolio Committee on Sport has congratulated team South Africa.
