Man dies, woman injured, drugs arrest at UK sex festival

-

LONDON: Police arrested a man found with class A drugs (most harmful and addictive) at a “kink rave” in Britain this week after a reveller in his 50s was found dead in a tent and a woman in her 40s was airlifted to hospital.

Clean-up teams allegedly found the duo as they cleared the controversial Flamefest site after the three-day event over the weekend near Royal Tunbridge Wells in Kent.

The man was pronounced dead and the woman was taken away in a helicopter. A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs.

It was also revealed the woman was out of intensive care.

The festival caused an uproar in the exclusive town after it was announced, offering an “adult play area” staffed by dominatrix and a variety of kinky workshops.

Police said the arrest was made after officers and dogs scoured the festival site, but it is not being linked to the death at this stage.

Police will be searching a number of addresses in relation to the investigation, but said they did not expect to make any more arrests.

Organiser Helen Smedley praised everyone involved including stewards and “dungeon monitors” for helping run the “brilliant” event. She said members of the public would not witness “outdoor sex” as revellers would go to “safe places” to romp.

About 250 people paid up to £600 (R10 100) to attend the festival and organisers drafted in extra security to stop gatecrashers. – Daily Mail
