WHO’S judgement lapse

-

YOUR front page report in the Sunday Tribune of October 22, 2017, headed “Mugabe WHO goodwill ambassador laughable – MDC” refers.

I don’t know whether to laugh or to scream at WHO for naming Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe as a “goodwill” ambassador.

Is this really a sick joke or for real – I can’t believe it.

There are many people from Zimbabwe coming to South Africa relating their sad health stories at its worst, and Mugabe couldn’t care less to fix it.

This stinks just as the sewerage system has collapsed and water was polluted by sewage.

This is really a joke of bad taste of the year and should be entered in the Guinness World Records.

I VISIT relatives in Salt Rock outside Durban often. The main road in Salt Rock is called Hugh Dent, and it’s like driving on a rural or a dirt road, with many, many potholes. Ocean Road is the same.

While the ANC changes names, these roads’ names should be changed – Ocean Road to Unserviced Road or Wrecked Road;and Hugh Dent Road to Huge Potholes or

Huge Dents Road.

Residents are paying such heavy rates, but where’s their service for their rates? Why are roads not maintained in Salt Road?

Then the toll road from Umhlali to Kwadukuza, (yes, again the ANC changed names, from Stanger to Kwadukuza, with no service delivery).

The toll road fee is R12 yet it goes into a single lane twice, and repairs have been going on for over 18 months now.can Sanral explain why this has not been completed?

The reason many people use the toll roads is because these are faster, safer and more economical. They don’t expect to be in a traffic jam in a single lane for hours?

Sanral must drop its toll fees to less than half until repairs and maintenance are complete.

Motorists using this toll often should pay R5 instead of R12 until the repairs are done

Sanral should be held ransom with the R5 coin until roads are fixed and serviced.

What I can’t understand is how and why Salt Rock and Stanger (especially an area called Warrenton) have roads worse than some rural roads.

Warrenton roads have not been maintained for years.

People have remained silent, when we have our legal freedom of speech to expose people put in positions of power but not working (without being racist etc).

The people voted into positions of power should and must sort this out, with immediate effect, without any excuses, or lose more wards and voters like during the last elections
