ASHLEY ARJOON & ARVINA HARRICHARAN

After the fairy tale comes ‘trust, loyalty’

-

ASHLEY Arjoon, a production supervisor at Meadow Feeds, Pietermaritzburg, and Arvina Harricharan, a Durban attorney, both 33 and now living in Durban, married on October 15 at the MH Joosab Hall at the Univers ity of KZN’S Westville Campus.

HOW WE MET

We exchanged telephone numbers when we met at a friend’s prayer ceremony. That started our journey together.

THE PROPOSAL & MARRIAGE

On my birthday in April 2016, Ashley presented me with a ring and I thought there was no proposal. Later that day, during lunch at a Ballito restaurant, he surprised me by slipping a ring into my chocolate pudding desert and went down on a knee and proposed. About 500 guests attended our colourful Hindi wedding.

BIGGEST CHALLENGE

Fortunately for us, we didn’t have any serious challenges preparing for our wedding.

With the blessing of God and our parents, who are our pillars of strength, our fairy tale wedding was well planned and successfully executed.

VIEWS ON LOVE & MARRIAGE

Yes, our wedding day was a fairy tale occasion. However, how we live thereafter as a couple, displaying love, faith, loyalty and trust for one another, to build a successful marriage, is what matters most.
