Will capitalist Cyril help poor?

-

HAS THE saviour arrived? Who is Cyril Ramaphosa and what does he stand for?

He owns Shanduka, a multiheaded company that owns Lonmin and Mcdonald’s, among others. Who gave him the money to acquire the assets and whose interests will he protect?

When he was elected as the

ANC president, the JSE was laughing all the way to the bank. The value of shares traded was

R58 billion. The happiest people in the world were in the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and World Trade Organisation because he represents them and he is a member of the new Emerging Capitalist Class in South Africa.

Ramaphosa will try to attract capitalist investment and this will be done by reducing the tax rate. He will attack workers wages on the basis that wages are inflexible. Therefore he would be anti-union, and pro capital and big business.

The outflow of capital started when former finance minister Trevor Manuel was squeezed by the World Bank. Profits now go to London. The outflow is R303bn a year. For 20 years the illegal outflow was R1 trillion, more than our entire budget. See a book called The 1% and the Rest of Us by Tim Di Muzio, available for free download from HHRC Press.

Zuma represented the rogue element and stole for his friends, family and cronies. Zuma, and not Ramaphosa, is a nationalist.

The global inequity figures are amazing. Sixty-eight people own half the world’s wealth. In South Africa, three people own the equivalent of what one half of the population do. Do the maths.

Unemployment affects a billion people but remember, there are 2.5 billion workers. Unemployment is regulated by the International Labour Organisation that regulates all labour-related matters. Even if a person works for an hour, they are considered employed. If you are registered for the unemployment insurance fund, you are considered employed. The national unemployment figure stand at 27.9%.

The reality is 50% of the youth are unemployed. In rural areas, 70% to 80% of the people are unemployed, therefore the figures are hogwash. Officially in the last 10 years, the changes were 0.5%.

The world is ruled by psychopaths. FEIZAL MOTALA Essenwood
