IAN WYLES Auctioneers will sell Oak Falls Farm, a “magnificent” smallholding in Himeville in the southern Drakensberg, at 11am on March 14 .

Andrew Giddy, Ian Wyles Auctioneers property manager, describes Oak Falls – which forms part of Ian Wyles’ March multi-property auction – as “the most prestigious property in the Himeville and Underberg area”.

Oak Falls is in the 500 ha Seaforth Conservancy, bordering the Drakensberg World Heritage Site. The conservancy is shared between six properties, benefiting from more than 8km of private river frontage on the Mkomazana River.

“The conservancy is home to an abundance of wildlife, including buck and birdlife. Members have access to fishing, horse riding and hiking trails that lead to caves with Bushman paintings,” Giddy says.

Oak Falls Farm itself is on 30ha, of which 5 ha are private, accommodating gardens and paddocks for the property and its residence.

The 440m² house has four en-suite bedrooms, a rose garden, two large paddocks, fruit trees, and a vegetable garden with growing tunnels. Steps from the house lead to a large wooden deck with boma fire pit.

There is also a separate two-bedroom cottage with its own private access and gardens and access to the river. Other assets and improvements include a generator and 10 000 litres an hour borehole. The estate has four storage tanks linked to the borehole via a filtration system.
