Love at first sight for inseparable couple

-

NICOLE Naicker, 26, an environmental consultant, and Kogilan Naidoo, 29, a financial consultant, both from Durban, were married at the DLI Hall in Durban on February 24.

HOW WE MET

We’ve been inseparable since we met in October 2011 through mutual friends. It was love at first sight.

THE PROPOSAL AND WEDDING

Kogilan and I went on holiday to Dubai and Phuket in 2016 and that’s where he proposed, at the Burj Khalifa, one of the world’s tallest buildings.

Our theme was vintage with soft pastel colours. Our Tamil wedding ceremony began with our entrance to live traditional nagasvarm music and ended with guests enjoying sweet treats at the candy station and snapping pictures at the fun photo booth.

Going with the right ideas and dealing with service providers were our biggest challenges. It took a lot of effective communication and planning to ensure we made decisions that were fair to for both our families.

VIEWS ON LOVE AND MARRIAGE

Falling in love is a journey. There are various stages: uphill climbs, breezy trails, slippery slopes and everything in-between.

Love means finding someone who brings out the best version of yourself and challenges you to be better – someone you are completely comfortable with and who knows you inside out, someone you can safely say is your best friend.
