THREE months after the public spat which led to the split of Kwaito group Big Nuz, and DJ Tira’s Afrotainment, the trio will put the beef aside in honour of the late Sbu “R Mashesha” Khomo, a founding member of the group.

The charismatic musician died in 2015 after a long illness and the fortunes of Big Nuz have dwindled since then, culminating in an explosive face-off between DJ Tira and Mandla “Mampintsha”

Spokesperson Khulekani Ntshangase said the public could expect to see them on stage during the benefit concert on April 14 at King Zwelithini stadium at umlazi.

“There are no grudges, the planned anniversary event would be a combination of West Ink, Afrotainment and 108 records. They have come together to remember R Mashesha,” said Ntshangase.

Ntshangase said a clay statue of R Mashesha would be erected in one of the parks in umlazi, and would visit his former primary school.

“R never finished school but when he became a musician, he dedicated himself to give back to educational charities.

“We will do all the things he had committed himself to, in his honour. All proceeds from tickets sales will be given to his foundation.”
