-

AS PART of Aucor’s 50th anniversary celebrations this year, the first KZN Indoor Premier League tournament is being sponsored and hosted by the company.

The competition, from May 4 to 6, will include Proteas and Dolphins players, playing indoors for a change, at the Aucor premises in Riverhorse Valley, Durban.

To secure players for the competition, the first auction of South African cricket stars was held at a glittering event in Windermere.

In line with the Indian Premier League, 18 players were auctioned off to the highest bidders for the league, including KZN players such as Khaya Zondo, Yusuf Abdulla, Sarel Erwee and Nantie Hayward.

Local indoor cricket specialist Garth Chislett achieved the highest bid of the night when sold to the Aucor Musgrave Warriors.

Nazeer Asmal, managing director of Aucor Durban, and team manager of the Aucor Musgrave Warriors, said: “Aucor is excited to be sponsoring and staging the Indoor Premier League at our facilities. This will be a spectacular action-packed competition and the public is invited to attend the tournament at 16 Imvubu Park Place, Riverhorse Valley – where they will also be able to see Aucor sales in action.

“Four auctions, which will include entertainment for the whole family, will be held during the tournament, including one of Aucor’s supercar auctions with dream wheels to captivate any keen motorist.”

Aucor, established in 1968, is now a major force in the auction industry and continuously expanding into Africa. – Auctions Writer
