Scary prices for old horror movie posters

MAY 13 2018 HISTORIC movie posters always attract strong bidding at auctions – particular­ly horror films. Texan auction house Heritage Auctions sold the following:

Dracula (1931) starring Bela Lugosi, for $525 800 (about R6.4 million).

London after Midnight (1927) with Lon Chaney, for $478 000.

King Kong (1933)

Fay Wray, for $388 375.

Frankenste­in (1931) with Boris Karloff as the monster, for $358 500.

On a more romantic note, the poster for 1946’s Casablanca, starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, was sold for $478 000. – Auctions Writer with
