Industrial equipment offered as companies sink

VALUABLE industrial equipment will be auctioned by Peter Maskell Auctioneer­s this month following the demise of two manufactur­ing concerns in Kwazulu-natal.

On Tuesday at 11am, the auction house will call for bids for the assets of Furniture & Beyond at the company’s premises at 9 Red Street in the town of isithebe.

High-technology equipment on offer will include: industrial sewing machines; Wadkin spindle moulder; compressor­s and receivers; band saws; sanders; staple guns; timber and fabrics.

Viewing will take place tomorrow from 11am to 2pm at Isithebe.

On May 30 at 9.30am, the auction house will sell the assets of the provisiona­lly liquidated DLD Engineerin­g at the firm’s premises at the Old Railway Workshops, Exchange Road, off Mayors Walk, Pietermari­tzburg.

Viewing will be on May 29 and 30 from 10am to 3pm.

Among the assets of what was once a major engineerin­g concern are:

10-ton and 5-ton overhead cranes.

Boldrini BSA 22mm section bending roll.

Radial arm drill. Pearson press brake. Scottish Machine Tools guillotine.

La Rocca pinch roller.

Toyota truck.

Welding machines. A large quantity of scrap and small tools will also be auctioned.
