Always keep principles of vastu shastra in mind in your homes

-

VASTU shastra has become such an integral part of our lives that we make plans bearing its principles in mind.

Whether it’s building a home or matters concerning the office, money, health and married life, vastu shastra seems to influence everything. Why not?

Seeing the ample benefits of this practice, which relates mainly to architecture, more people are following it and reaping the rewards.

Vastu is an ancient architectural science that allows us to live in perfect harmony with nature. The five main elements that are present in the universe are also found in human beings: water, fire, air, sky and earth.

Vastu helps us derive maximum benefits from these elements. So, we can live a happy, healthy and a prosperous life by using gravitational forces, wind energy, magnetic fields, lunar and solar energy in the correct way.

Therefore, it is important to apply vastu principles in your home, office and other spaces:

When you’re sleeping, your head should face south and feet point north. The next best option is for your head to face east.

The reason for this is the law of magnetic forces. We know energy travels from the north to the south pole, similar to magnetic fields.

Sleeping this way ensures sound, undisturbed sleep. The next morning, you will feel energetic and calmer.

Don’t keep medicine in the kitchen or you will devour it like food. The fire energy of the kitchen will increase your consumption of medicine.

Also do not keep medicine in your bedroom, which is a comfort zone, or medicine will always find a comfortable spot in your life.

The best place to keep medicine is in the north-west part of the house: you will be cured and become healthier faster.

Your prayer place should be built in the north-east part of the house. A deity or image of a god should be placed in such a way that you face east while praying. Keep this room neat, clean and clutter-free.

When they lack space, families set up temples in bedrooms or kitchens. A small curtain should be placed at the front of the temple when it is not in use. And the temple should not share a wall with a toilet.

The main entrance door should be bigger than the other doors of a house.

It is always better to open the windows in the morning to let air and light enter so that you are able to draw on new energy.

Any clocks or alarm pieces that are no longer working should be dumped because such devices hinder a family’s progress.

All unused clothing, bottles and discarded items should not be kept in a house because it amounts to storing unwanted energy.

Purses or wallets containing money should not be left open at night and exposed to darkness. It is better to keep them in cupboards or drawers.

Brooms and mops must be stored horizontally, not vertically.

Bedrooms must be kept clean and clutter-free.

Your bed should not reflect in a mirror; rather put up a mirror in your bedroom in a way that it does not reflect your bed.

Paintings that symbolise death, quarrels, violence or any negative aspect of life should be avoided in the home.

Don’t ever sleep under a beam or cupboard. This will cause unnecessary pressure and could affect your health.

According to feng shui (a Chinese system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy), a person should beautify a bedroom – a pair of ornamental lovebirds and a picture of peacocks is appropriate.
