Best place for a first date in the city? Private beach somewhere on the North Coast, with an Instagram worthy picnic set up.

What’s the first thing you do when you arrive in Durban from out of town? Call my friend for lunch or dinner.

Best meal you’ve had in Durban, that’s not at home? I can’t remember the name but it was at The Oyster Box.

What local song can’t you stop listening to? Brand New by Professor ft Fey.

And what local TV show (besides yours) are you loving right now? Lockdown on Mzansi Magic is great.

What’s the last South African movie you watched? I watched a couple of local films at the recent Durban Internatio­nal Film Festival.

And the last stage play? I went to Duma kandlovu’s revival of Gibson Kente’s How Long at the Playhouse recently.

Your favourite hangout spot in Durban? ushaka Marine World’s Wet ’n Wild

The best kept secret in the city? Probably how we preserve our culture and rituals.

Best place to let your hair down? I don’t like night clubs but AZAR is a great place to relax and have fun with friends.

Who do you call when you want to have fun and where in the city do you go? My girls, of course. It depends on what mood we’re in; from going to the beach to lunching by the ocean, to hitting a club or going on a half day pampering session

Favourite Durban shop to shop? I shop everywhere really.

Florida Road or Helen Joseph Road? Which one is better? Florida Road but I used to be a Helen Joseph Road girl when I stayed in Glenwood.

Umhlanga Village or Gateway Umhlanga? It really depends on my mood.

Which is your favourite market in Durban? iheartmark­et is the plug.

What’s the one thing people need to stop doing in Durban?

I hate how Durbanites undermine people that contribute into the growth of the city and our country.

Where is the best view of Durban? From the top of Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Best place for a nightcap? Bel Punto in umdloti.

Where would you suggest first time visitors to the city go, to get the best experience of the city? The beach front, then to ushaka Marine World and then go on a Kasi Tour.

What can we expect from your upcoming music? Next time you see me, I’ll be a DJ.
