SIRHAN SEEDAT
Beefed-up Beemer a petrolhead’s delight
THE BMW M3 might be considered by many to be the gold standard of luxury performance saloons the world over. It is a vehicle that is no stranger to both local and international car performance culture.
Westville resident Sirhan Seedat is a self-employed architect and car- and bike-loving petrol head.
He is also the chairperson and founder of the “E46ERZ” BMW M3 car club. His awesome 2001 BMW E46 M3 is the subject of this week’s feature.
Increasing the power on a behemoth such as the M3 might be seen as a superfluous act. After all, it is already a super-fast and complex beast.
Seedat, accordingly, opted for a minimalist approach towards performance enhancement.
His car boasts a BMC “drop-in” air filter and an OEM quad-pipe exhaust with a “decat” and upgraded 86mm tail pipes.
The BMW sports an imported AP Sportfahrwerke retrofitted coilover suspension system and a set of gorgeous narrows and wides Work VS XX 19-inch mag wheels with stainless steel lips wrapped in Achilles APR Sport 235/35/19 rubbers in front and 265/30/19 in the rear to keep this marvellous mechanical monster wellharnessed and glued to the tarmac.
The Beemer’s exterior flaunts a Csl-style carbon-fibre front lip as well as a rear diffuser.
The car also has a set of angel eye halo-ring headlights.
The interior features black carbonfibre wrapped interior trims and an upgraded E92 M3 hood lining.
There is a very decent acoustic system comprising the car’s premium OEM speaker system mated to an Oem-style upgraded android/satellite navigation/dvd in-dash entertainment system, which also has reverse-camera functionality.
It is not known how much money was spent on all the extras.
