A beautiful ‘Tribute to Rajesh Khanna’
ATRIP down memory lane, remembering the late, great Bollywood actor, Rajesh Khanna, will have fans nostalgic about the good old days and the unforgettable music.

Maharaj said India’s singing sensation Chetan Rana and Khanna look-alike Mahesh Khanna will perform at the izulu Theatre, Sibaya, on August 24 and 25.
“The artists from India will be accompanied by three local female singers – Eshara Maharaj, Sharmaine Deol and Seleena Mohanlall with music backing by
Durban’s showband, The Conchords,” said Maharaj. “The audience will be captivated by the melodious golden oldies.”
Rajesh Khanna, an actor, film producer and politician, starred in 15 consecutive solo hit films in the period from 1969 to 1971. He died of cancer in 2012, he was 70 years old.
Bringing his songs to life will be Rana, who Maharaj said, was a finalist for the K is for Kishore reality music series on Sony TV. He also represented India in the
April Spring friendship art festival, in North Korea, and won the Gold Cup for individual performance. He has performed internationally with leading playback singers, including Alka Yagnik, Sonu Nigam, Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Sunidhi Chauhan and Sudesh
Bhosle. This will be his fifth performance in South Africa.
Mahesh will be making his debut in South Africa. Dance group, Vande Mataram and Kumari Shiksha Dance Institute will bring to life Khanna’s songs – the show
will include film scenes with several hits of Khanna’s. Songs from the hit blockbusters Prem Kahani, Haathi Mere Saathi, Aap Ki Kasam and Souten, among others. The show will be compered by the dynamic Zakia Ahmed Siddiqi.
Tribute to Rajesh Khanna will be held in collaboration with Showtime Promotions, Scorpion Design and Tilley Doors.
