ATISHA BRIJLAL & SASHIN JUGNANAN
Journey continues in another country
SASHIN Jugnanan, a chartered accountant of Queensburgh, and Atisha Brijlal, of Yellowwood Park, both 26, married on August 11 at Kendra Hall, Durban, before going to settle in the US.
HOW WE MET
Atisha and I met through friends while studying at the University of Kwazulu-natal Westville campus more than seven years ago. Our love story began over a simple game of cards, when I thought I was being charming by teaching Atisha how to play Thunee even though she already knew how. We started dating shortly after Valentine’s Day in 2011 and have been by each other’s side ever since. THE PROPOSAL AND WEDDING
While working in Philadelphia, the US, earlier this year, Atisha came to visit me. I had been told a few days before she arrived about a permanent position, so I prepared a candlelit dinner and asked her to take the big step of moving in with me in another country.

VIEWS ON LOVE AND MARRIAGE
Marriage is about love, patience, communication, understanding and compromise. It’s about celebrating the good times together, but also being supportive through the bad. We built a strong relationship together and can’t wait to continue on this journey as a married couple in a new country.
