Best place for a first date in the city? Moyo at ushaka Marine World. It’s affordable and the exquisite view of the ocean and sea breeze especially in the evening, adds to the ambiance.
What’s the first thing you do when you arrive in Durban from out of town? I make sure that I pass by The Workshop and grab a shawarma at Aladdin’s. I never knew I could ever be so addicted to a shawarma.
Best meal you’ve had in Durban that’s not at home? Probably a mutton bunny chow at Orientals.
What local song can’t you stop listening to? Ngikuthandile by Vusi Nova.
What local TV show are you loving right now? Imbewu (The Seed) on e.tv.
What’s the last South African movie you watched? Asinamali by Mbongeni Ngema.
Which documentary is better? The September Issue or The First Monday in May?
It would have to be The First Monday in May. Met Gala fashion all the way.
When was the last time you attended a music concert/festival and who was performing? It was at the Gateway Fashion Show & Concert event and my favourite Kwesta was performing.
If you were mayor for the day, what would you do? I would create a foundation where we would build each other as women. We would get into the business of how we can eradicate the issue of self-doubt and the thought of feeling worthless as a woman. I would want them to walk out of that fun-filled meeting with a different mindset on self-love and knowing that even money can’t afford or buy them. That is how expensive we are as women.
The best-kept secret in the city? The Club restaurant at the Greyville Racecourse.
Best place to let your hair down? It has to be the beach for me. Hair blowing in different directions means great pictures!
Who do you call when you want to have fun and where do you go? My friend Sinethemba and we go to Florida Road.
Your favourite coffee shop? Starbucks.

Which is your favourite market in Durban? Victoria Street Market.
