Zee Stars set to electrify audiences

THE ATMOSPHERE will be electric and there will be song, dance and drama as internatio­nal stars take to the stage to give a performanc­e like no other. The Zee Stars Live in Concert will feature some of India’s talented singers and dancers – all who shot to fame by entering reality shows.

The concert will be held at the Greyville Convention Centre in Durban on August 31, as well as the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City on September 1.

Hermith Hardeo, organiser of the Durban show, said a wide variety of performers, featuring stars from Indian television shows, including Kundali Bhagya and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs finalists and winners.

“The best of the best, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Manit Joura, Dance India Dance champion Sanket Gaonkar and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs contestant­s Yumna Ajin and Jayas Kumar, will showcase their talent,” said Hardeo. “Yumna and Jayas performed in South Africa last year, the rest will be performing for the first time in the country.”

He said the South African audience would enjoy the experience, which was going to be “power packed”.

Dhoopar, 33, is a popular Indian television actor and model. He is best known for playing the lead role of Prem Bharadwaj in the TV serial Sasural Simar Ka on Colors TV. Manit Joura, 36, is an Indian actor who made his Bollywood debut in Yash Raj Films’ romantic comedy Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010, which starred Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh. He played a leading role in Love Shagun and ALT Balaji’s The Test Case. Gokar,

20, is the winner of Dance India Dance 6 and intends to become a choreograp­her in Bollywood.

Yumna, 13, was a finalist on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs and Jayas, 7, was the winner. Jayas was only five years old when he was signed on by one of the judges, Himesh Reshammiya, who is a renowned Indian singer.
