THE wait is over – Bollywood A-list couple, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are finally married, after six years of dating.

Deepveer, as they are known by their fans, had several traditional ceremonies leading to the exchange of vows on Wednesday and Thursday at the famous Villa Del Balbianello in the commune of Lenno, overlooking Lake Como, Italy.

The event, including the guest-list, was kept under wraps and there was tight security.

The couple’s first ceremony was a phool muddi (engagement), followed by a sangeet and mehendi ceremony attended only by their immediate family and close friends.

Entertainment acts for the pre-wedding celebrations included Bollywood performers Harshdeep Kaur and Shobha Mudgal. A konkani ceremony and a sindhi ritual marriage followed.

Two ceremonies were done out of respect to the bride and groom’s tradition and values.

The couple were also rumoured to be having two receptions – the first in Padukone’s hometown, Bangalore, and the other scheduled to take place in Mumbai on November 28.

The grand affair being a private occasion, the couple did not allow guests or family members to share wedding photos.

However, two official pictures were released on their Instagram pages on Thursday, which have already gained more than 9 million likes combined. On day one of their konkani-style wedding, Padikone wore traditional gold and maroon ethnic robes while Ranveer donned a white and gold kurta.

For their sindhi wedding on day two, the pair colour co-ordinated their outfits by wearing a combination of hot pink and red traditional north Indian ethnic ensembles.

Guests went on boats to the venue.
