Corsa colour-coded to the max
A CAR’S ability to thrill has often been judged according to its engine capacity. In the case of the Opel Corsa, engine size is by no means a yardstick of performance. The Corsa is an easy car to love, it is surprisingly well-powered, impressively frugal and, perceivably, much more fun than most of its era-equivalent peers.
Dhiresh Mohanlal is a 23-year-old Phoenix resident. He works at a popular Durban-based auto customisation company and freelances in his spare time as a DJ and sound and lighting professional. His hobbies include all things car-related and playing the keyboard.
Mechanically, Mohanlal’s car features very minimalistic performance-tweaking in the form of a simple but effective 50mm performance exhaust system and branch.
The car’s suspension system was kept stock-standard. A set of 17 inch Evo Mag wheels kitted to Achilles 20540-17 rubbers add to the car’s form and function. The mag wheels are alternated with a second set of 15-inch Opel CD16V mag wheels as required.
The exterior of Mohanlal’s car was upgraded. The upgrade included the aesthetic merits of a custom paint job featuring painted-on graphics, which is rare since most enthusiasts usually opt for vinyl instead. His car boasts a front lip spoiler as well as a colour-coded rear integrated spoiler and colour side mirrors. It flaunts an awesome custom colour-coded engine bay, among the best we have seen.
Mohanlal’s car, further, showcases an impressive boot installation, augmenting the car’s acoustic set-up, which features a Pioneer receiver, a pair of Pioneer 6x9s, a set of tweeters and mids, a Linertec amplifier and a 10 inch DVC subwoofer.
An undisclosed amount of money was spent on this build.
