Preity nervous to face cameras again

PREITY Zinta, who is making a comeback to films after a decade with Bhaiaji Superhit, says the movie has given her new challenges as an actress and she was nervous on the first day of the shoot.

Zinta said: “I was worried that I thought I forgot acting. This is not only the first film I was doing after a long time, but I was exploring a new genre.

“I never wear saris in my films, never played a funny character like Sapna Dubey, and I even had to learn a new dialect as the film is set in North India.”

Starting with Dil Se in 1998, Preity acted in commercially successful films such as Soldier, Kya Kehna, Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Dil Chahta Hai, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy and Veer Zara.

Bhaiaji Superhit also features Sunny Deol, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Sanjay Mishra and Ameesha Patel.

Preity’s last big movie release was Heroes in 2008, which also featured Sunny.

On being part of a multi-starrer again, the actress said: “Neerraj (Pathak, director and writer) has written a very funny film and we have very good actors. I worked with Arshad earlier in Salaam Namaste and he is a very cool and funny guy. I have worked with Sunny, so it was like re-uniting with my co-stars and good friends on a film set.

“Ameesha is very sweet to me and we had a great cast and crew.” |
