A Honda named desire

- ASHWEN SINGH JOEY DAMIAN WIDRAJ HONDA BALLADE VTEC

HONDAS have earned an international reputation for exceptional build quality and classleading reliability, which has allowed Honda to make significant inroads within local auto enthusiast circles.

Local petrolhead Joey Damian Widraj’s Honda Ballade 150i is the subject of this week’s feature.

The 23-year-old Phoenix resident works as a senior consultant at a large international company.

Mechanically, Widraj’s Ballade boasts a relatively minimalist performance addition to his Honda’s multi-valve, fuel-injected, factoryfitted power plant. This relatively simple set-up comes in the form of a 57mm performance exhaust system and branch installation.

Exterior customisations consist of a “Type R” front lip, a de-badged grill, a set of fog lights and a slimline boot spoiler. The car also flaunts a very cool Webasto tilt and slide sunroof and a stylistic engine bay, which is customised in red.

The installation of LED under-car lighting adds stage presence to this beautifully clean, low-slung sedan.

The interior of this Honda boasts an upgraded full Oem-look leather interior with red stitching. As far as the ride is concerned, Widraj’s “150i” flaunts a stealthy Maxtrac coil-over lowered suspension system, paired to a set of Oem-spec 15-inch rubbers.

Acoustically, his car rocks to a simple but quality Sony sound system comprising a head unit, a pair of mids and a set of tweeters.

An undisclosed amount of money was spent on this build.
