Yzerfontein home offers five bedrooms and is 200m from the beach

A MODERN beachfront home with panoramic views of the sea at Yzerfontein on the West Coast will be auctioned on site by Reliance Auctions on March 19 at noon.

The double-storey house at 79 Dassen Island Drive has five en suite bedrooms, modern finishes and a boathouse and is, according to the auctioneers, in excellent condition. The 560m² property on a 780m² stand is being sold without a reserve price as the owner is emigrating.

The house is just 200m from Pearl Bay Beach and overlooks Dassen Island which – together with the well-known West Coast National Park – is one of several nature reserves in the area.

Once a small harbour town 90km north of Cape Town, Yzerfontein is one of several West Coast towns growing rapidly.

It has become a popular port of call for tourists, especially during the wildflower season, as well as crayfish and snoek seasons, and among the new developments planned is a shopping mall to serve the increasing number of permanent residents.

Among the town’s other attractions is Sixteen Mile Beach, said to be the longest uninterrupted sandy beach on the SA coastline; a small-craft harbour and the popular wedding venue and beach restaurant, Strandkombuis.
