THE Africa-wide Great Elephant Census of 2016 produced the shocking facts of a decimated elephant population. Their numbers continue to plummet – elephants are killed, on average, every 15 to 20 minutes.

This scenario can see the final demise of these intelligent, extraordinary animals in less than three decades. This evocatively illustrated book offers chapters written by the top experts in conservation and wildlife. Photographs have been selected from among Africa’s best wildlife photographers. The book will hopefully create greater awareness of the devastating loss of elephant lives in Africa.
