SHO MADJOZI’S 24-HOUR LAYOVER IN TURKEY

-

SHO Madjozi spent 24 hours in Istanbul where she savoured the sights and sounds of the major Turkish city.

The star, who took home the Best New International Act award at the BET Awards last month, was in Los Angeles for two weeks before making her way home on Monday.

The Huku hitmaker is the first South African female musician to win the award. To celebrate, she decided to have a “relaxing stopover” in Istanbul.

She posted on Twitter: “Quick relaxing stopover in Turkey before the madness I’m planning to cause when I get back to SA.” (sic).

The star shared a video of her hotel room at Shangri-la Bosphorus, Istanbul – a five-star hotel known for its superb views of the Bosphorus.

The hotel created a picture cake to celebrate the star – but we’re not sure whether she ate it because it looked way too good to be eaten.

The stay, courtesy of Turkish Airlines, gave the beauty a chance to visit some of the popular places in Istanbul – all within 24 hours.

Not that Sho Madjozi minded. First on her itinerary was the Hippodrome. She then made her way to the Topkapi Palace Museum, celebrated as one of the city’s most important museums.

The Wakanda Forever singer enjoyed lunch at Sur Balık in Sarayburnu.

The restaurant is famed for its seafood and the menu that serves healthy meal options.

Sho Madjozi ended the day of exploring the Hagia Sophia. It was built by Emperor Justinian in the early 6th century AD and designed by Anthemius of Tralles and Isidore of Miletus.

Its massive dome dominates the skyline of old Istanbul which is famed for its mosaics, among them glittering portraits of emperors and empresses, and a poignant Virgin and Child.

TAMARYN GREEN’S ITALIAN ADVENTURE

Tamaryn Green is best known as

Miss South Africa 2018 and Miss Universe first runner-up, but the beauty pageant winner is also an avid traveller.

From the Western Cape, Green is in Italy living her best life.

The model and sixth-year MBCHB student decided to take a few days off her busy schedule for a break in “paradise”.

She included the Trevi district on her itinerary. Trevi is a vibey place famed for the Trevi Fountain designed by Italian architect

Nicola Salvi.

Green then visited Sestri Levante, a town and comune in Liguria, Italy. The town, 56km south of Genoa, offers idyllic views and sunsets that are beyond beautiful.

As Green avoided the South African winter for Europe’s summer, she swopped her warm clothing for bikinis and sundresses.

She also spent a day at Portofino, a fishing village on the Italian Riviera coastline, south-east of Genoa city.

She spent her time wisely, enjoying some bubbly and savouring the views of the ocean.

“Heading out to Portofino for the day. A small fishing village located in the City of Genoa on the Italian Riviera,” she posted.
