What will the new year hold in store for you?
IF YOU are looking for love or wanting to take your relationship to the next level in the new year, you might want to put those plans on hold as Mars goes retrograde between May and June.
Mars is the planet of energy, action and sexual desire and retrograde slows down these components as the planet enters a sort of dormant stage causing chaos.
Minaxie Gihwala, known as MG, fortune teller and life coach said in 2019, love was a dominant energy and the subject was most popular and had more questions. She said men and women of all ages who were in long term relationships and even marriages still wanted to find out if their partners were being faithful.
She said, from an astrological point of view, Mars will go into retrograde between May 13 and June 25. This meant that plans might go a little haywire.
“Venus normally stands for love and beauty and romance and happiness. When we are in this phase, people should not focus on these aspects of their lives as it will be a time for introspection,” she said.
“It will not be an opportune time to get married or to start a new relationship. Possibly delay a relationship and financial undertakings are also not advised during this period.”
MG said the negative economy this year brought the harsh realisation to many that money was slightly more important than romantic relationships.
Those who had invested for rainy days had been disappointed because investments were very poor and monies were lost.
“Even good, sound relationships suffer when finances are tough. People get uptight and anxious. They are nervous about missing their bond repayments and paying their bills.”
For a happier 2020, MG suggested that people learn to differentiate between what they want and what they need.
“Those are two very different things. People should focus on what they need and not what they want.
‘If we all do that, we will find ourselves in harmonious spaces, and it will put off a lot of pressure to make ends meet.”
On President Cyril Ramaphosa, MG said with authority and power, comes a lot of responsibility. As we enter the New Year, Ramaphosa needed to trust his instinct and to listen to the people in the villages because those were the voters who suffered the consequences of bad leadership more than everybody else.
Kwenzekile Mngoma, KZN’S glamorous sangoma, said we were all born to serve a certain purpose in life and that it was up to individuals to respect and nurture their gifts.
A full, quality life was not dependent on the start or the end of a particular season or year. She said young people had become careless, with their moral fibre degenerating, and were increasingly failing to listen to their parents.
“If we stick to obeying our traditional customs, the New Year will be a successful one. However, if you fail to obey and listen to your ancestors, that might bring some misfortunes,” she said.
“You cannot do what the masses are doing. Find out what is meant for you.”
She said as the year comes to a close, we all had to identify events and decisions that led to unhappiness to ensure we do not cross over with the same burdens into the New Year.
“If your personal, business and family relationships were unhealthy, you have to leave all of those behind. We are entering into a new decade and the right decisions will ensure a great year.”
