Landing soon: lodge with airstrip
IN2ASSETS will be auctioning a property in Camperdown with an airstrip as well as conference and accommodation facilities on April 21.
The live auction, in compliance with Covid-19 regulations, combined with online bidding, will be at at the Mount Edgecombe Country Club at 11am.
Emoyeni Aviation Park functions primarily as a guest lodge which has conference and team-building facilities. It also has an airfield and a hangar is let out to private owners of light aircraft.
The property comprises a guest lodge, conference room, dining room, kitchen, entertainment area, staff accommodation, owner’s cottage, a granny flat and a hanger annex.
The guest lodge consists of 17 large en suite rooms, plus two self-catering cottages. The main house sleeps 11 and the cottages sleep six adults and three children. Both have kitchen facilities.
The conference room offers seating for up to 100 delegates.
The dining room has a seating capacity of 36. A fully equipped commercial kitchen services the dining room. The pub/pool bar seats up to 100 and is enclosed by roll-up awnings.
The owner’s cottage has two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms; lounge/ dining room; kitchen and a spare room. The granny flat has one bedroom, kitchen, lounge and a bathroom. The hangar annex has one bedroom, an open-plan kitchen and dining area and a bathroom.
Emoyeni boasts two grass landing strips and caters for flying enthusiasts.
Other improvements on the property include a workshop/garage with three adjoining staffrooms, a workshop that has been converted to accommodate 16 toilets and 10 gas-heated showers which are used for team building events. There is also a small cottage that houses the maintenance staff.
There is a hydroponic operation installed on the property which is fed by two 2 200 litre tanks.
The property has a 3-phase power supply. Water is supplied via the neighbouring property and is stored in two 6 000 litre tanks. The property has a 3m-wide borehole servitude. Solar hot water systems are installed throughout which saves on electricity consumption.
Emoyeni is in the municipal area of Camperdown, strategically located between Pietermaritzburg and Durban.
