BUSHIRI EXTRADITION

THE Southern African Development Community (SADC) protocol on extradition will not be used in the case against preacher Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary. They fled South Africa before their fraud trial related to an investment scheme. The SADC protocol is not part of the laws of Malawi and therefore irrelevant in the case, news website Malawi24 reported this week. The magistrate would rely on the 1972 extradition agreement between Malawi and South Africa. | ANA
