THOBILE Makhumalo Mseleku, fashion role model, motivational speaker, Vuma FM radio personality and the wife of popular polygamist Musa Mseleku is among the new faces on the second season of the Real Housewives of Durban .

The first episode of the next instalment premièred on Friday (January 28), promising a view into luxe living, high fashion and hard hustling, adding fresh cast members to the reality show.

Mseleku said her followers were certain to get their money’s worth and that viewers would also be reintroduced to her as an individual, outside of her polygamous marriage.

Nonku Williams, Sorisha Naidoo and Annie Mthembu as well as TV host Nonkanyiso Conco from the first season. Other new faces include Londie London, a musician, model and songwriter, and Jojo Robinson, artist and tattoo fanatic.

Mseleku who features in her family’s reality TV show, Uthando Nesthembu, which airs on Mzansi Magic, Dstv Channel 161, told the Sunday Tribune that she was approached by the producers to be part of the show.

Despite the negativity associated with the show, she saw it as the right platform and an opportunity to let others in on her life. She said although the show and her family show were both reality based, they were different.

“I could never compare our family reality show with any other because it is unique and we believe in authenticity. We are not for drama nor do we create drama. We are also a family that looks out for each other and we only have each other,” she said.

“With this show, it’s different women who are pushing different agendas and have different goals. People are going for everything, we are not family but women trying to form friendships.”

Mseleku shared that her husband would be featured in some of the episodes and that this season would be most inspiring to young women and educational to men.

“We are coming from a background where women were dependent on men as providers and breadwinners. In the show we are showing you a different side of women, someone watching from my rural farm will be inspired”, she said.

“There are people who believe that by marrying into a polygamous marriage you automatically acquire certain things but they will see Makhumalo who is a hustler, going after the things she wants. You are going to see more of me and all my hustles outside of my marriage.”

Asked whether she would be bringing new fashion into her diary sessions, Mseleku said she was unable to plan with her designers as she started shooting the show while busy with her family show. But she did promise to light up the screens with classy ensembles.

Together with her three sister wives, Mseleku will be hosting a new show, Igumbi Lamakhosikazi, on SABC 1 next month.

Real Housewives Of Durban season 2 is aired on Showmax on Fridays.
