SEVA Hands, a non-profit organisation based in Reservoir Hills and Clare Estate, this week partnered with Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) as part of TNPA’S corporate social investment initiatives, to commemorate Mandela Day 2022 with a career exhibition at Hillview Primary School in Reservoir Hills. Pupils also received treats and lunch.

The school is one of the beneficiary schools of the Seva Hands sandwich drive.

The drive feeds close to 500 children from impoverished backgrounds every week. Since starting three years ago, the organisation has prepared and distributed 30 000 school lunches.

The organisation, which relies on sponsors and donations, is run by Yajnaa Haridas, Aneshnee Yegambram and Veneshree Naidu.

Seva Hands has also been involved

in hamper distributions.

“Also close to our heart is the distribution of sanitary pads to young girls.

No girl should miss a day of school because of not having sanitary pads,” said Yegambram.
